What is MBCT?

MBCT is a evidence-based approach that combines aspects of cognitive therapy with mindfulness practices. It’s designed to help individuals break free from patterns of negative thinking and rumination, often associated with anxiety and depression.

Why is MBCT at Psychology Outcomes free?

Psychology Outcomes is on a mission to change how mental health treatment is offered. We want to be an all inclusive clinic where all client needs are able to be met and supported. By offering the MBCT Room for free* we allow access to an evidence-based psychology treatment group that has shown to be effective. It is even more effective when people attend individual therapy + the MBCT Group at the same time.

*The MBCT Group is bulk billed and uses clients 8 Group Medicare Rebates. There is no fee for clients and does not impact clients 10 available individual Medicare Rebates.

When does the MBCT Group run?

MBCT is held at Psychology Outcomes and is an 8 week program running from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Wednesdays. It runs on Week 1 of each School Term, start dates are below:

2024 MBCT Start Dates (8 week program):

  • MBCT Group 1 Start Date: 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesday 31st January, 2024 (8 weeks)

  • MBCT Group 2 Start Date: 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesday 17th April, 2024 (8 weeks)

  • MBCT Group 3 Start Date: 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesday 17th July, 2024 (8 weeks)

  • MBCT Group 4 Start Date: 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesday 9th October, 2024 (8 weeks)
