Feedback Informed Treatment

Evidence-based therapy training

Psychology Outcomes offers evidence-based therapy training for Geelong Psychologists. As clinical psychologists, we teach the Deliberate Practice method and the Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) approach. Feedback Informed Treatment primarily focuses on improving client outcomes and reducing client dropout. Conversely, the Deliberate Practice evidence-based method is for psychologists looking to enhance their performance and skills.

What is Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) in therapy?

Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) is an evidence-based practice that helps Psychologists gather structured input from clients. FIT aims to incorporate the client’s perspective in the therapy.

Feedback Informed Treatment has been shown to improve client outcomes and reduce client drop-out. Through two measurement methods, FIT gathers information to determine how the client feels about the treatment approach, their goals and their relationship with you, their therapist.

Using the FIT therapeutic approach allows you to measure your client’s well-being/distress and their outcomes every session. Moreover, you can utilise the results of this information (i.e., the "feedback") to improve the focus of your treatment, tailoring it specifically to the unique presentation of the client sitting in front of you.
