How to reduce alcohol and drug use and get back your confidence

Since the pandemic Australians have used alcohol and drugs more than any other time. I get it. The more we know about alcohol and drug use the more we realise they are triggered by stressful environments. What is more stressful than a pandemic and then the consequences for individuals and families as we return to normal?

To reduce alcohol and drug use there are three primary treatment options. 1) Visit your GP if you need mild strategies and medication, 2) Visit a Psychologist for skills and strategies for moderate to severe alcohol or drug use, 3) Visit a Withdrawal Service or Rehabilitation Service just like Windana Recovery. In my journey to help individuals I have recognised that to help mental health you have to be able to understand and manage addiction. Mental health and addictive behaviours are the norm, whether its alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, gambling or gaming. That is why I have worked as a consultant and researcher with Windana for 6 years. And they are passionate about helping individuals with alcohol or drug use. So much so they invested a large sum of revenue to create an innovative system to measure and track individuals who are doing well in their recovery so they could celebrate with them, and identify individuals who are in their service and struggling so they can provide more support.
